When Duaa left her architecture studies in Sudan to come to France, she knew she was a taking a risk. The risk of having to start all over again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With an ear to the ground and a <\/span>supportive network<\/span><\/a>, she achieved the seemingly impossible: picking up where she left off and keeping her studies in pace with her growing career ambitions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the fall of 2019, Duaa took part in PLACE\u2019s storytelling program, <\/span>My Image, My Story<\/span><\/a> – where she reappropriated her story and was able to start navigating the opportunities available to her in France.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today she is studying full time and sharing her experience to support other young newcomers realize their full potential.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
